Are the Medicus Golf Training Aids Effective in Fixing Your Swing? - Golf Equipment Review
By Matt Larson on Sep 3, 2007 in Medicus vs Refiner Reviews
Medicus vs Refiner > Effectiveness > Ease of Use > Extras > Durability >
Bottom line: Unless we can afford a full-time swing coach, putting any of the Medicus golf training aids in your practice bag will dramatically reduce our handicap faster than any other single golf swing trainer on the market.
Bold statement? Yes, but it’s also truthful.

We subjectively tested the claims of the Medicus golf aids, through extensive use of the products, and numerous independent reviews by users of the products.
Both the manufacturers of the Medicus and the Refiner golf swing trainers make mighty claims as to the effectiveness of their products. We were somewhat skeptical. Groove-it! Golf is passionate about the game and has fallen prey to worthless golf swing trainers before. We quickly realized that the Medicus and the Refiner pro are not fly-by-night products hoping to cash in on golfer’s near-obsessive passion for lower scores.
These golf training aids have an extensive history of testing by independent golf laboratories, and teaching professionals. Their effectiveness has also been documented in unsolicited reviews and endorsements of consumers across the web. The results are consistent. These products work, and have highly satisfied users! Check any golf forum, Product rating guide (such as Amazon) and see for yourself.
The Medicus Dual 2000 and the Refiner Pro differ in design, and achieve similar results. The clubs focus on maintaining a proper swing plane and steady tempo. Make an off-plane swing or take the club back too fast and the club will “hinge”, rendering you unable to hit the ball.
We find the best part about both the Refiner Pro and Medicus golf series is that you can hit real balls. They won’t travel as far as your regular irons, but the feel of the swing translates into your game perfectly.
We did find two big differences between the Medicus and Refiner, relating to durability, and customer service.
Customer Service Issues
We had some customers complain about Refiner Golfs “less than customer friendly” practices, and we have personally had unpleasant experiences dealing with them on the business side.
Medicus? Every experience has been a true pleasure and everyone has gone out of their way to answer any and all questions we have about the product and company.
